The idea of a CrossFit box always intimidated me as I imagined classes filled with pushy coaches and “meathead bros.” When I decided to take the leap and attend a class I was immediately proven wrong, in the best way. After the first class I was hooked.
I love (and hate) the WODs but it’s the community at Silver Wolf that brings me back time and again. It sounds cliche, but being a member of this community has helped me to identify the limits I place on myself and how to push through them. This occurs not just physically during workouts but in other aspects of my life as well. The additional care available for members to take advantage of, i.e. massages, nutrition, etc helps to keep me well-rounded in and out of the gym.
Silver Wolf Kids Pack has been such a wonderful experience for my son. He loves it and says that he is building strength. I love that being a member of Silver Wolf Crossfit myself we can talk about our workouts together which brings about a great connection between us. He is always excited to see if he has been able to lift more weight than me or has exceeded the number of burpees or squats I could do!
Bryant has been consistently coaching the children and has done a wonderful job. It is a positive environment to help children stay strong and fit.The workouts have a good balance of exercises and games .
My weight loss journey started in 2012. My daughter was getting ready to turn 2, and I was quickly realizing that I didn’t have just your normal everyday toddler on my hands. I had one that has the energy level of a heard of midgets high on red bull. So, I figured I needed to do something to keep up with her, or she was just going to flat out kill me. I thought now would be a good time to start getting into better shape. Well… it was now or never, really. So I started off by watching my calories, and keeping a pedometer on me to make me more away of my activity level. I had always been overweight, but happy. So all of this was new to me. I had never tried to lose weight before. Everyday I would strive to get 20,000 steps a day. And within the first 6 months I shed 50lbs. During the summer of 2013 the company I work for started offering different fitness classes like yoga and strength training. Both of which I attended regularly, and really enjoyed. This is where I met Rene. She was awesome at kicking everyone’s ass in class. Which was what we needed. I had never really done any kind of strength training, so this was also new to me. Since working with Rene I have learned more about strength training than I ever thought I would care about. I have learned how strong I am, and how much stronger I can be. I have also dropped another 20lbs, and gained a ton of muscle. She’s awesome at keeping me accountable, and pushing me harder. Even when I’m pretty sure she’s just trying to kill me. But… Nothing has yet, I have just gotten stronger. So now, I’m a much healthier mom… I’m down 70lbs, and went from a size 18 to a 6. And chasing now an almost 5 year old… Who still tries to run circles around me, only now I can keep up.
