Cody Starnes is a 37 year old native Charlottean who began her fitness journey nine years ago. After working out at the YWCA and later at a smaller gym she heard about this thing called “crossfit.” Curious, she decided to give it a go and loved the physical as well as mental commitment and strength it requires.
While Cody loves Crossfit, she also knows it is not the “be all end all” of fitness which is why is she super excited to bring an Endurance Bootcamp to Silver Wolf. As she has “aged” she has learned to listen to her body more, modify certain movements, and that speed over poor form is not a healthy approach to fitness.
She is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and CrossFit Kids Trainer. She enjoys pushing people to their limits and watching them set goals and accomplish them. She is here to help you make fitness part of your daily routine. This little question/answer best sums up her attitude and life philosophy:
“Motivation is fleeting and it’s easy to rely on because it requires no concentrated effort to get. Motivation comes to you, you don’t even have to chase after it. It’s better to cultivate discipline than to rely on motivation. Force yourself to practice. Force yourself to work. Force yourself to train. Discipline is reliable, motivation is fleeting. The question isn’t how to keep yourself motivated, IT’S HOW TO TRAIN YOURSELF TO WORK WITHOUT IT!
